Coke Adds New Agencies: Taking surprising new steps to add pizazz to its advertising, Coca-Cola Co. has hired two relatively small ad agencies--each with a bold, creative reputation--to its roster. The Portland agency Wieden & Kennedy and Minneapolis ad firm Fallon McElligott have been selected to work on “special projects” for the Atlanta-based soft drink giant. The move is yet a further blow to Coke’s New York agency McCann-Erickson Worldwide, but it also seems to send a warning to the Hollywood talent firm Creative Artists Agency, which Coke hired last year to help it spice up its advertising.
