The EPA is under a federal court order to draw up plans for reducing emissions in Ventura County so that its air quality will meet federal standards for cleanliness.

During the meetings, EPA officials will describe the county’s current air quality and outline the potential options it may take to decrease pollution. Officials will also ask the public for its views and suggestions for improving air quality.

The meetings are the first of several hearings and workshops the EPA will hold over the next year as it develops an air-quality plan for Ventura County, officials said.
