Missile Deal: Loral Aeronutronic of Newport Beach, a division of defense contractor Loral Corp., said Tuesday that it is teaming with a German firm to develop a new generation of air-to-air missiles for the U.S. Navy and Air Force.

The agreement with Bodenseewerk Geratetechnick GMBH means that Loral, which is the primary contractor for the government contract to improve the Sidewinder missile, will rely on the German firm’s expertise in infrared-seeker design, the company said. Other terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
