Air France Opens Talks With Pilots: The French carrier’s new chairman and chief executive, Christian Blanc, began negotiations with employees by meeting representatives from the pilots union as the carrier continued to move toward normal scheduling after an eight-day strike. However, some unions, including the General Confederation of Workers--a communist-led group--resisted the idea of separate talks with different groups.
