Rams Sued by Fan Over Loudspeaker

Share

A fan has sued the Los Angeles Rams, claiming that he suffered permanent injury to his hearing because a loudspeaker near his seat at Anaheim Stadium last season was too loud.

Alan Drucker, who is identified in the lawsuit as an Orange County resident, alleges that on Nov. 22, 1992, he was waiting for the football game to start when a loudspeaker attached to an overhang above Section 140, Row K, Seat 17 or 18 “suddenly and without warning and with an extremely loud and unreasonable sound level, emitted words, music and other sounds . . . that caused (Drucker) and other ticket-holders in the vicinity . . . to jump in their seats.”

The lawsuit, which also names the city of Anaheim as a defendant, alleges that the speaker was defective.

A claim against the city was rejected by the City Council on June 22, 1993, according to the lawsuit.

A spokesman for the Rams could not be reached for comment.
