Nation IN BRIEF : FLORIDA : Bill Banning Guns for Juveniles Passes

Responding to a series of high-profile slayings involving teen-agers, Florida lawmakers have passed a bill to prohibit anyone under 18 from owning a gun except for hunting or marksmanship. Under current law, a trooper who pulls over a speeding car and finds a teen-ager with an Uzi can write a ticket--but can’t seize the weapon. That will change in seven weeks.
