Clinton Health Plan

Share

In the 1960s, ‘70s and ‘80s I worked hard to become part of the middle class. Now in the 1990s, I’m part of the disposable class. At 54, I have never asked my government for anything. I have paid my taxes, voted, and volunteered to clean up my community. I have only one wish: the pursuit of happiness by not having the government interfere in my life. Since I play by the rules, I thought that was my right. But it seems that the rules have changed.

Now my government says that I must have (a) health plan that they will run. I have spent a lot of money on medical bills in recent years. The costs have been inflated by those who chose not to have insurance or take responsibility for their actions and by illegal aliens.

I do not want the government to have anything to do with anything as personal as my health care. A woman has a right to choose if she desires to continue a pregnancy; I also have the right to determine my own health care. Under the Clinton plan, I won’t be able to have private insurance. That is a fundamental violation of my rights as an American. I’m not asking for something for nothing--I will pay for it. Leave me alone.
