CLARK HALL?: Garden Grove needs a new City Hall and the Ralph B. Clark Administration Building across the street--once main headquarters of the county transit agency--may soon be sold. As a result, the city and county are trying to strike up a deal to move City Hall to the Clark building. . . . Says City Councilman Bruce A. Broadwater: “It will cost up to $3.5 million to refurbish the current City Hall, which is outmoded and loaded with asbestos. The (Clark) building would suit us fine.”

GOOFY IDEA?: John Gregory Dunne first wrote that Las Vegas was a “Disneyland for adults.” Now with its new MGM Grand, Luxor and Treasure Island hotels all geared toward families, the city expects to cut into Disneyland vacation bucks. . . . But at the park’s 65th birthday celebration for Mickey Mouse (B1), theme park chief Judson Green said Las Vegas is “throwing a lot of money into the ground.” Nevada’s Gov. Bob Miller, on hand with a youth group, retorted with a smile: “I disagree.”

YOUNG LOOK: It may not match Lana Turner at Schwab’s, but Micah Grisham, 16, from San Clemente is en route to fame through a lucky fluke. After accompanying a friend to an interview with Costa Mesa talent agent Roger Canamar, Grisham found himself the focus of attention as well. . . . Canamar sent his picture to famous fashion photographer Bruce Weber. Result: Grisham is starring in a new Gianni Versace clothing ad campaign, and will soon be seen in fashion magazines.

UP AND CUMMER: Not only are men getting away from basic black for their tuxedos (E1), the old prom night/wedding necessity--the cummerbund--is less in demand. Vests are becoming a popular replacement, though they rent for slightly more. Says Conrad Maag of Penguin Pformal Wear in Corona del Mar: “Five years ago, cummerbunds made up 90% of the market, now they’re 60%.” Some shops, such as Tux Shop After Five in Orange, say vests are now the top accessory.
