WORLD IN BRIEF : BOSNIA-HERZEGOVINA : Convoy Delivers Food to Hospital

A U.N. convoy delivered desperately needed food to a hospital southwest of the capital of Sarajevo where patients suffering frostbite and tuberculosis huddle around wood stoves and sleep in frigid wards. Five patients have died of cold and malnutrition in the last week, the hospital staff reported. The four-truck aid convoy was supposed to include several hundred blankets and sleeping bags, but a U.N. spokesman said Serbs controlling roads into the area had only allowed food supplies to pass.
