VENTURA : Christian Center Plans Fund-Raiser

Total Life Christian Center will sponsor a musical performance and barbecue Sunday, with the proceeds targeted to pay for improvement projects at the Ventura church.

Total Life Christian Center, 660 N. Ventura Ave., houses a program dedicated to feeding the homeless and helping them find jobs. Homeless men and women will be able to use the new bathrooms at the center, said the Rev. Luther McCurtis, pastor of the church.

Featured in the 3 p.m. musical program will be gospel singer Michael McCurtis and the gospel group Family of Faith. Also performing will be local choirs, soloists and praise teams.

The center’s program will be held at the Coastline Worship Center, 3076 Loma Vista Road, Ventura. A barbecue with all the trimmings will start at the same time, organizers said.

The performance is free, but donations are being sought to help pay for construction of new bathrooms and refurbishment of the parking lot at the Total Life Christian Center. Admission to the barbecue is $20.
