LOS ANGELES : Suspect in Woman’s Death to Be Extradited
A fugitive wanted for the brutal murder of a 19-year-old woman he met at a Burbank health club was being transported to Los Angeles on Thursday night after being arrested by federal officials in Texas, authorities said.
Douglas Oliver Kelly is accused of killing Sara Weir, 19, a Warner Bros. production assistant who had hired him to be her personal trainer at a now-closed fitness center. Her naked body was found in Kelly’s Valley Village apartment on Sept. 15, eight days after she was reported missing.
Kelly was apprehended the day before Thanksgiving by U.S. Customs agents as he attempted to cross the border into Mexico from Laredo, Tex., according to Tom Mitchell of the Webb County Sheriff’s Department.
