For the second time in about a year, Kayser-Roth Corp. may be ordered to pull its top brand of low-priced pantyhose off store shelves. A federal magistrate has ruled that the hosiery giant ignored warnings and set out with its Legs Look pantyhose to imitate the L’eggs trademark and packaging created by Sara Lee Corp., its chief rival. A federal judge will make a final ruling.

Last year, Sara Lee successfully sued to force Kayser-Roth to remove its Legs Looks from the market.

Kayser-Roth redesigned its Leg Looks box, but Sara Lee said the redesign didn’t go far enough: Surveys showed that 40% of customers still couldn’t tell the difference.
