Disarmament During a Time of High Crime

Share

I am sure everyone that read about the three boys killed on Halloween night was saddened and outraged, but what puzzles me is the sudden need of the people of Pasadena to disarm themselves.

In the face of unrelenting gang violence, the vicious murder of three innocent children, and a police force that can’t seem to get its act together, a whole community, according to The Times, chooses to disarm itself.

Well, pardon my political incorrectness, but gun control is probably the last thing Pasadena should turn to. If anything, Police Chief Jerry Oliver should have a little faith in the citizens of Pasadena and start issuing concealed-weapons permits. It is obvious that the police cannot prevent this kind of crime. They can’t even catch the psychopaths who did it. The only logical answer is to allow people to legally defend themselves.

Disarming yourself in the middle of a crime wave is about the moral equivalent of poisoning your own well in the middle of a drought. It’s suicide!

“Frangible” bullets are actually called “safety slugs” because they do not ricochet or over-penetrate if you are forced to shoot someone in your home. They are designed to stop the “bad guy” on the first shot and not go through him, through a wall and kill your wife or child in the next room. They are not only the best bullets for self-defense, they should be the only bullets you are allowed to use for self-defense!

Gun control and the banning of “frangible” bullets are nothing more than feel-good measures at best, and dangerous at worst--a smoke screen to make people believe that something positive is being done, when in reality, it’s the politics of desperation.

Don’t get caught in their lies!
