Ingram Micro to Add 600 Jobs, Expand N.Y. Plant

Share

Ingram Micro plans to add as many as 600 new employees, most likely at an existing eastern operations center in a suburb of Buffalo, N.Y., the company said Monday.

The planned expansion would include an 85,000-square-foot plant addition at Ingram Micro’s existing facility in Amherst, N.Y. Local government agencies have agreed to fund $200,000 in road improvements, but the expansion is “contingent upon the availability of additional funds from the state of New York,” Ingram Micro spokeswoman Kirsten Kappos said.

Ingram Micro now has 539 employees at its Amherst facility. The 600 jobs to be added include accounting, credit, telemarketing and technical support staff. If state funds are forthcoming, the space expansion would be completed by mid-1994.
