Raiders’ Robinson to Be Sidelined for 3 or 4 Weeks With Knee Injury

Share

Greg Robinson has a torn cartilage in his left knee that will sideline the Raider running back for three or four weeks.

He was scheduled for arthroscopic surgery late Tuesday or early this morning.

Robinson could return for the Raiders’ final regular-season game on Jan. 2. Failing that, he will probably be available to play if the Raiders make the playoffs.

At 7-5, the Raiders are struggling to qualify for postseason play. That struggle figures to be considerably tougher without Robinson, the eighth-round draft choice who is leading the club in rushing with 591 yards.

The club is also without running back Napoleon McCallum, who underwent an emergency appendectomy on Nov. 27.

Robinson was injured on the first play of the second half of last Sunday’s game against the Bills in Buffalo. Going off left tackle, he said he felt a sharp pain, even though no one touched him.
