AMC Theatres unveiled plans to build the theaters and a retail promenade at Foothill Ranch Towne Centre in Orange County. The project near El Toro will cost about $20 million. It is expected to be completed in October, 1994, and will be the largest in California, with a specialty retail promenade featuring restaurants and bookstores similar to the Hollywood-themed CityWalk near Universal Studios. The theaters will show both art and foreign films. The 18-screen Cineplex Odeon next to Universal Studios and CityWalk is now the largest entertainment center in the state.
