Stockholders Propose New Chairman for Volvo: Shareholders of the Swedish auto maker have suggested Bert-Olof Svanholm to replace Pehr G. Gyllenhammar, who resigned after Volvo retreated from a proposed merger with France’s Renault. Also, major shareholders proposed other candidates for the board, included Renault Chairman Louis Schweitzer, to replace four other board members who resigned with Gyllenhammar. Meanwhile, Volvo said the company has no alternative partner.
