Tariffs on Imported Cars Coming Down: The government has cut the duties by nearly a third for 1994 and is restricting tax-free purchases of foreign cars, state television reported. The State Council, China’s Cabinet, said tariffs on small cars were cut from 150% to 110%, and from 220% and 180% for larger cars Jan. 1, China Central Television said.
