Russian Plane Crashes, Kills 116 on Board

MOSCOW —
A Russian passenger jet crashed this morning shortly after takeoff from the Siberian city of Irkutsk, apparently killing all 116 people aboard, the ITAR-Tass news agency reported.
ITAR-Tass said the Tu-154 jet had just taken off for Moscow when its engines failed.
“According to preliminary information, all 110 passengers and six crew members perished,” the news agency said.
