Advanced Compression in Indian Telephone Deal

Advanced Compression Technology Inc., a Simi Valley maker of systems for combining voice, fax and data in communications networks, said it has received a $600,000 contract from India.

The contract, from Indian Telephone Industries, a prime supplier for India’s Department of Telecommunications, is for data and voice products to be shipped within the next two months.

Advanced Compression said the contract could lead to orders for several million dollars worth of equipment over the next few years.

The company said the products would be used by India to help bring telecommunications to rural areas of the country.
