CRENSHAW : Revitalization of Riot Areas to Be Discussed
The Community Redevelopment Agency is sponsoring an open community meeting to discuss revitalizing commercial areas that were damaged in the 1992 riots. The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Ascension Lutheran Church, 5820 West Blvd.
The area targeted includes commercial corridors on Crenshaw Boulevard between 52nd and 74th streets, on Slauson Avenue between Hillcrest Drive and 2nd Avenue, and along 71st Street and Florence Avenue between West Boulevard and 2nd Avenue.
Members of Crenshaw 6, the newly elected Community Advisory Committee for the study area, will also attend. The committee was formed to assist the agency in developing strategies for retail, commercial and industrial strips in the revitalization areas in the sixth and eighth council districts.
