Injured Goalkeeper Out for Rest of Season

Capistrano Valley goalkeeper Jason Felix, knocked unconscious Wednesday during a game against Mission Viejo, has been released from Mission Regional Community Hospital. Felix’s father, Ray, said his son has a bruised spinal cord and will have to wear a neck brace for six weeks. He will be out the rest of the season.

Ray Felix said Jason missed Capistrano Valley’s first league game because of a broken nose suffered Jan. 7 during a dispute on campus. “He was blindsided by some kid and he had to miss the game that day because he was in emergency getting his nose fixed,” Felix said.

Felix then played 10 minutes in Wednesday’s game before being injured.
