Camaraderie in Being ‘Victims of Love’?

Share

Now I think I understand why so many women run to Cro-Magnon jerks even though they profess to yearn for loving, secure, strong-yet-vulnerable, sensitive men (“Loves Me, Loves Me Not!” Jan. 6).

The ladies want something to complain about when they’re with their girlfriends. If all her friends are “victims of love,” a woman will feel like a nun in a nudist camp if her guy isn’t a jerk and she’s actually happy.

Will a woman risk alienating her girlfriends and losing their support in their all-guys-are-jerks sorority to have a healthy, wonderful and satisfying relationship with a guy who adores her? Or will she continue to date turds she and her girlfriends can whine about?

For every woman who whines about what primates all her boyfriends have been, there are 100 guys waiting to fulfill her dreams of Mr. Right. But, nahhh. She’d probably find them too boring.

Re “Loves Me, Loves Me Not!”:

Don’t watch TV; it is too violent.

Don’t listen to rap; it is tasteless and degrading.

Read the L.A. Times about chopping up men’s private parts; it’s funny.

Not to me.
