Segregation in Jails

* Regarding the proposal to segregate some of the Los Angeles County jails, and the support by the ACLU to do same, I agree, for I have a white male friend in the Downtown L.A. County Jail who has been threatened with death repeatedly simply because he is of the wrong race. He fears to go out into the common areas of the jail.

Segregation is an evil, but in this case, it is the lesser of two evils. I support the ACLU on this matter.
