Thrifty Tel Inc.: The Garden Grove long-distance telephone service company reported a net loss of $582,790, or 2 cents a share, for the six-month period ended Nov. 30, contrasted with a profit of $276,783, or 1 cent a share, for the first half of the previous fiscal year. Sales were up 35%, to $8.4 million from $6.2 million.
