WESTMINSTER : City Manager Kenny Will Retire in March

Share

City Manager Jerry Kenny announced this week that he will retire after more than 20 years with the city.

Kenny, 64, said he will leave on March 4. He has been city manager since January, 1989.

Kenny’s retirement comes at a time when the city is facing serious political troubles that include a recall targeting Mayor Charles V. Smith and three other City Council members and an investigation by the district attorney’s office into alleged overtime fraud at the Fire Department.

City officials said a temporary city manager will be named by next month and a consultant will be hired to help in the search for a permanent replacement.
