LAGUNA NIGUEL : Grants Available for Service, Art Groups

Share

Community service and arts organizations in the city can apply for grants being made available by the City Council. Deadline for applications is Friday.

The City Council has allocated $14,225 for grants to community services organizations and $10,625 for arts groups in 1994. Last year, grants ranging from $1,000 to $5,000 were awarded to such recipients as homeless and children’s shelters, performance troupes and singing groups, said Pamela Lawrence, assistant to the city manager.

All requests for funds will be considered and reviewed by a council-appointed committee, which makes recommendations to the council. Highest priority will be given to organizations and programs that provide direct service or benefit to the greatest number of city residents, Lawrence said.
