1993 Home Sales Jump 5% in Year

Home sales in Ventura County in 1993 showed the strongest year-to-year performance of any Southern California county, according to TRW REDI Property Data.
A total of 8,845 new and used residences changed hands in the county last year, 5% more than in 1992, the service reports. Orange County, the only other county in the region to register an improvement, showed a 1% gain.
In single-family resales, the largest part of the market, Ventura County had 6,219 sales last year, 8% more than the previous year, according to Dataquick Information Systems. Condominium resales in the county last year totaled 1,403, a 2% decline.
