Two More ‘Shadows’

Share

In reference to your article (“Putting the Shadow in His Place,” Jan. 6), reader Zita Carno was correct in stating that Orson Welles was “The Shadow” in 1937-38 (“Welles’ ‘Shadow,’ ” Saturday Letters, Jan. 15). However, it is very important to acknowledge the two “Shadows” who followed Welles. Bill Johnstone played the lead from the 1939 to the 1945 season.

Bret Morrison, probably the actor most of us remember as “The Shadow,” followed Johnstone until the series ended in 1954.
