Father Takes Issue by the Horns, Names Child ‘God’

TOKYO —
A Japanese man who sparked a dispute by trying to name his son “Devil” has opted to call the baby “God” instead, a Tokyo tabloid said Wednesday.
The case aroused nationwide controversy over whether the government should deny the right of parents to name their offspring as they see fit.
The Japanese Justice Ministry said it saw no problem with the new name.
