Kerr-McGee, Partners Plan Project: Kerr-McGee Corp. is getting a 35% interest in a petroleum exploration project in the South Con Son Basin off the shore of Vietnam. “The lifting of the embargo on Vietnam by the U.S. government has permitted this venture, which is a continuation of Kerr-McGee’s strategy to expand into international basins with the potential for large discoveries,” said Luke R. Corbett, group vice president for the Oklahoma City-based energy company. Kerr-McGee entered an agreement with Cairn Energy and Secab Ltd., two British companies, in which it received the 35% interest.
