COLLEGE ROUNDUP : UCI Beats Loyola Marymount in Women’s Tennis

The doubles team of Natasha Frantz and Jennifer Wall won to give UC Irvine a 5-3 victory over Loyola Marymount in nonconference women’s tennis Thursday at UC Irvine.

Frantz and Wall defeated Angela Young and Lara Labetich, 6-4, 2-6, 6-4, in the final match for UCI (4-5).

In Big West Conference women’s basketball:

San Jose State 89, Cal State Fullerton 71--Autumn Hollyfield had 25 points for host Cal State Fullerton (4-19, 3-12). Hulett Brooks had 18 and LaDonna Irving had 14 for San Jose State (13-10, 8-7).

In nonconference softball:

CS Dominguez Hills 2-11, Southern California College 1-3--Celeste Gordon went three for three with a run batted in and a double and Tracy Scofield was three for four with three RBIs for Southern California College (3-3).

Azusa Pacific 2-4, Pacific Christian 0-11--Rhonda Staton hit a solo home run in the third inning of the second game that began a five-run rally for Pacific Christian (3-1).
