A Fine Example of Family Values

Bravo to “A Family United” (Feb. 9). Thank you for taking the time to show us what family values really mean: sticking by and supporting all the members of your family.

The Henigans deserve a standing ovation. Not just for their unconditional love, support and acceptance of their gay son, Patrick, but for taking an active, open role in making their community safer and supportive for other gay and lesbian teens.

In response to the students who protested the inclusion of the Fountain Valley High School Student Alliance: Your school won’t have a reputation as being a “gay school.” Instead it will be a school known for its progressive tolerance and inclusion of support for all students.
