Compassionate ‘Helpers’ Lauded

Share

* Everyone who helped the Northridge Meadows tenants retrieve their belongings deserves thanks.

The engineers, rescue workers, firefighters, National Guard and police were all wonderful! They really seemed to care what was happening to each of us.

Engineers and rescue workers went out of their way to help us get as much as we could. It was very difficult for some of us to see anything but destruction in the apartments. Having their compassionate eyes was a godsend.

Those people who were only able to get into their apartments by way of the firefighters were very grateful for anything they could get. The firefighters were terrific! They went above and beyond the little lists some people gave them. They would see something they thought would be important and went for it.

The police and National Guard protected our belongings. Had they not been there, some of us may not have had anything to take out of the building. They were also compassionate, asking if they could help and how we were holding up.

The people of the Northridge Methodist Church went above and beyond. They tried to keep up with all the news and let each tenant that called know as much as they could. They came through when the tenants were beginning to feel everything was lost. They were our lifeline!

Under what started out to be very difficult circumstances, everyone pulled together and made things as easy as possible. I have great respect for everyone that helped.
