Missing the Point on Water Rates

* The “point that seems to be missed” about the two-tiered DWP water rates in your editorial “Clear Thinking About Water” (March 6) is that residents with large properties in the Valley should not be overcharged for keeping their grounds beautiful.

That would be like charging Lancaster and Santa Clarita residents who commute to Los Angeles $3 per gallon of gas just because they drive farther to work, then giving the $4-million surplus to the oil companies! What’s fair about that?
