BRAND-NAME VICTORY
Susan Brownmiller’s report on Vietnam indicates that that country has traded its hard-line Marxist ways for the corporate totalitarianism of what George Bush dubbed “The New World Order” (“Saigon Days, Hanoi Nights,” Feb. 6). It’s nice to know that the 59,000 Americans who died in the war helped make Vietnam safe for Pepsi, Shell Oil, Sony et al. Who says we didn’t win that war?
