BRIEFLY : Environment: Free Compost Workshop

The city of Santa Monica will sponsor a free back-yard composting workshop Saturday.

Residents will learn how to set up and maintain a compost pile using grass, leaves and kitchen scraps. The decomposing material is used as fertilizer.

The workshop begins at 10 a.m. at Clover Park, Ocean Park Boulevard and 25th Street.
