Share

The Right Start Inc. reported earnings of $155,000 for the third quarter ended Feb. 23, up from $146,000 for the same period in 1993. However, the company reported a loss of $186,000 for the first nine months, compared to earnings of $640,000 for the same period last year.

Revenues increased 27% to $10.9 million for the third quarter, up from $8.5 million for the same period last year. Revenues for the year-to-date period were reported at $40.5 million, up from $28.3 million for the same period in 1993.

Company officials attributed the year-to-date loss to the second quarter 1994 write-off of the Weebok Catalog, discontinued because of weak sales. The Right Start Inc., based in Westlake Village, is a catalogue merchant offering products for children up to age 12. Its catalogues include The Right Start Catalog and Children’s Wear Digest.
