Aurora Plans Acquisition

Aurora Electronics Inc. plans to acquire substantially all of the assets of Century Computer Marketing, a privately held firm in Marina del Rey, for about $33 million.

The price is composed of about $29 million cash and $4 million in Aurora common stock, plus the assumption of certain liabilities. The deal is subject to completion of the financing arrangements.

Irvine-based Aurora, with 375 employees, reported profit of $3.1 million on revenue of $79 million for its fiscal year ended in September, 1993.

Century, which like Aurora distributes materials to and provides support for the computer industry, has 198 employees in its six facilities. The 10-year-old company had revenue of $40 million last year.
