Paroled Killer Charged With Molesting 4-Year-Old Girl
A convicted killer and sex offender who was released from prison over the objections of his victims’ relatives was arraigned Monday on charges of molesting a 4-year-old girl.
Russell Obremski did not enter a plea during his brief court appearance. He was ordered held without bail on charges of sex abuse and sodomy.
Obremski spent 24 years in prison for the 1969 killings of two women in southern Oregon before being paroled 4 1/2 months ago.
Obremski, 49, was on parole from a 20-year sentence for the statutory rape of a 14-year-old girl in Washington state when he murdered Laverna May Lowe and Betty Ann Ritchie.
He was sentenced to two life prison terms. His parole was delayed five times as relatives of his victims campaigned to keep him in prison. He was released Nov. 8.
