CRENSHAW : Shelter Accepting 1-Parent Families

The American Philanthropy Assn. is accepting applications for its single-parent family shelter at 8707 S. Broadway.

The 99-bed facility, which opened last September, provides shelter for single parents and their children. The Crenshaw-based association also serves homeless men and women at separate shelters at 1218 S. Norton Ave. and 8311 S. Western Ave.

Formed in 1978, the nonprofit association provides shelters, food, clothing, books, toys and scholarships for disadvantaged people in South and Central Los Angeles.
