CORONADO--”The Times of Our Lives” is the theme for the 69th Coronado Flower Show, April 9-10 in Spreckels Park on Orange Avenue, between 6th and 7th streets. 1-5 p.m. Saturday; 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday. $2, general; $1, kids. Starting times: 10K Wheelchair Race, 7:30 a.m.; 10K Run, 7:35 a.m.; 4K Fun Run/Stride, 8 a.m.; one-mile fun run for kids, 8:30 a.m. Participants encouraged to dress in swallow costumes. BORREGO SPRINGS--The fifth annual Grapefruit Festival, April 13-17, includes a classic car show, entertainment and an art show, 9 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Saturday in Christmas Circle, and a street dance at 7 p.m. Sunday’s festivities, including an all-states picnic, are 9:15 a.m.-5 p.m. Also scheduled: Star-gazing at Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, 8:30 p.m. Thursday.
