Chrysler CEO Plans Trip to China: Robert Eaton, Chrysler Corp. chairman and chief executive, expects to make the trip Friday to discuss Chrysler’s proposal to establish a joint venture minivan plant there. Eaton said he does not expect his visit to result in an agreement in the immediate future. “I suspect this will drag on for months and months,” he said. Chrysler and Mercedes-Benz are believed to be the two remaining auto makers vying for the lucrative joint venture. Some analysts say Chrysler may lose out to Mercedes-Benz if the United States revokes China’s most-favored-nation trading status.
