New Senior VP for Insurance Firm

* Timothy M. Matthews has been appointed senior vice president in charge of client management for Johnson & Higgins in Costa Mesa. He has more than 10 years’ experience with the insurance broker. Matthews has also been executive vice president for Coast Insurance Agency in Brentwood and president of Coldwell Banker Insurance Brokerage Co.

* Peter Bren has been appointed to the board of directors of Koll Management Services. Bren, brother of Irvine Co. Chairman Donald Bren, is president of K/B Realty Advisors in New York, a joint venture between the Bren Co. and Koll Management. Bren succeeds Richard Ortwein, president of Koll Real Estate Group, as a director.

* Jeffrey A. Safchik has been elected to the board of directors of InVitro International, an Irvine product safety test manufacturer. Safchik is the managing director and chief financial officer for Greenstreet Partners, a private investment fund in Florida, which has invested in InVitro.
