92 Trade Unionists Killed During 1993

BRUSSELS — At least 92 trade unionists were killed worldwide last year and thousands more were tortured, jailed or fired, a trade union report said Friday.
Latin America continues to be the most dangerous region for union activists, according to the annual report of the International Confederation of Free Trade Unions.
Colombia stands out, with 46 trade unionists killed in 1993 and 33 others going into hiding after receiving death threats, according to the report.
