World IN BRIEF : YEMEN : Threat of Civil War Raised Over Clashes

Officials from southern Yemen claimed that northern soldiers were besieging remnants of a routed southern brigade near the capital, Sana, and threatened to declare war. The north said 79 people had died in the three days of fighting. Western diplomats and northern officials had previously estimated as many as 2,000 casualties.
