Film Studio Planned in Baja: Vancouver, British Columbia-based Beacon Studios said it will develop a 150-acre film studio complex in Bajamar, Mexico, near Ensenada. The Canadian film investment organization said it spent $29 million to acquire the site, where it plans to build six sound stages for use in making motion pictures, television shows and commercials. Construction is to begin next year. The company said the project was inspired by the North American Free Trade Agreement.
