RELIGION & ENVIRONMENT: Rabbi Alfred Wolf, a longtime interfaith leader in Los Angeles and current director of the Skirball Institute, will talk about what religion can do to help preserve the environment in a forum 10 a.m. Wednesday at Temple Beth Hillel, 12326 Riverside Drive, Valley Village.

RECOVERY WORKSHOPS: The fifth annual Christians Making Connections Conference, a meeting focused on evangelical perspectives on recovery from addictions and other problems, will be held May 14 at Valley Vineyard Christian Fellowship, 6642 Reseda Blvd., Reseda.

Stephen Arterburn, founder-chairman of New Life Treatment Centers, will be the keynote speaker at the conference, which will begin at 9 a.m.

BISHOP’S TALK: Auxiliary Bishop Armando X. Ochoa, who heads the San Fernando Pastoral Region of the Los Angeles Catholic Archdiocese, will speak briefly Monday in La Canada at the meeting of the East San Fernando District of the Archdiocesan Council of Catholic Women.

Ochoa will speak shortly after registration at 9:30 a.m. The meeting is at St. Bede the Venerable Catholic Church, 215 Foothill Blvd. A Mass will be celebrated by Msgr. Arthur Lirette, pastor of Holy Family parish in Glendale.
