ANAHEIM : Police Substation Approval Expected
- Share via
The City Council today is expected to approve $120,000 in funding to open a Police Department mini-substation in the Anaheim Hills Festival Shopping Center.
The 2,300-square-foot facility at 8082 E. Santa Ana Canyon Road will feature a front-counter area, police briefing and changing rooms, and a meeting area with multimedia and teleconferencing capabilities.
Initially, the mini-substation will be open only from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 5 to 7 p.m.
The department has maintained an office with locker-room facilities for police officers serving in the canyon area since 1988. That facility, at another site, offered no direct service to the public.
The Police Department is exploring the possibility of opening a larger, full-service substation in Anaheim Hills later this year.
