President Clinton has accepted an invitation to deliver the keynote address in a May 20 event celebrating UCLA’s 75th anniversary, school officials announced Tuesday.

Clinton will appear during a 90-minute, invitation-only convocation at the Westwood campus before receiving the UCLA Medal from Chancellor Charles E. Young, who is marking his 25th year as head of the school.

Young said in a statement Tuesday that school officials are “extremely proud and honored” that Clinton has agreed to attend, adding that the President has “made support of education a cornerstone of his presidency and we look forward to hearing his vision for the future at this important milestone in UCLA’s history.”
